What the Law Does?
The act repeals two provisions:
- Windfall Elimination Provision (WEP): Reduced Social Security for those receiving non-Social Security pensions.
- Government Pension Offset (GPO): Reduced spousal or survivor benefits for public employees with pensions.
With these repeals, eligible individuals will receive full Social Security benefits starting January 2024, including back payments.
