Who Can Qualify for D-SNAP?

To be eligible for D-SNAP in Florida, you must:

  1. Live in Designated Counties: Only residents of certain counties affected by disasters can apply.
  2. Meet Income Requirements: Your household income must fall below a specific threshold. For example, a household of four must have a monthly income of less than $3,529.

Application Process: Three Phases Across Florida

The application for D-SNAP will be conducted in three phases, depending on where you live. Here’s a breakdown:

1. Columbia, Dixie, Franklin, Gilchrist, Hamilton, Jefferson, Lafayette, Levy, Madison, Suwannee, Taylor, and Wakulla Counties:

  • Phone Applications: Accepted from October 28 through October 31.
  • Onsite Applications: Available for three days in each county starting November 1 through December 9.

2. Charlotte, Hernando, Manatee, Pasco, Pinellas, and Sarasota Counties:

  • Phone Applications: Accepted on November 4 and from November 6 through November 8.
  • Onsite Applications: Available for three days in each county starting November 9 through December 3.

3. Citrus, Hardee, Highlands, Hillsborough, Lee, and Volusia Counties:

  • Phone Applications: Accepted from November 12 through November 15.
  • Onsite Applications: Available for three days in each county starting November 16 through December 15.
 

What Can You Expect?

Eligible households will receive one month of benefits, which will equal the maximum monthly amount for a SNAP household of their size.

These benefits can be used to purchase groceries at participating retailers and online stores.
