More than 640,000 Grubhub customers and delivery drivers are receiving payments from a Federal Trade Commission settlement. However, simply using the food-delivery app does not automatically mean you qualify.
The Federal Trade Commission is distributing more than $23.8 million through 640,038 checks and PayPal payments to people affected by the conduct covered by the case. Most recipients will receive a check in the mail.
Why is Grubhub sending refunds?
The FTC Grubhub settlement followed allegations that the company used misleading or unlawful practices involving diners, drivers and restaurants.
The government alleged that Grubhub:

Advertised delivery costs that could rise after added service fees and small-order fees.

Misled some Grubhub+ subscribers about delivery-fee benefits.

Misrepresented potential Grubhub driver earnings.

Blocked some customers from accessing accounts, funds or gift-card balances.

Listed some restaurants on its platform without permission.
Grubhub agreed to resolve the case but did not admit wrongdoing.
Who qualifies for a Grubhub FTC refund?
Eligible recipients were identified using records connected to the practices included in the settlement. There is no new claim form or application to submit.
You may receive a payment if you were identified as an affected Grubhub diner or driver. Eligible people are being contacted automatically by mailed check or PayPal payment.
The FTC has not published a public tool where every past Grubhub user can enter their details and check eligibility. Review the FTC’s official Grubhub refunds page for the latest information.
