As 2025 comes to a close, many Americans are still stretched thin by high living costs.
While federal stimulus programs are no longer active, a few states continue to offer their own forms of financial relief.
For December 2025, Alaska and New York remain the two states distributing payments to eligible residents.

Alaska: Permanent Fund Dividend (PFD) for 2025
Alaska’s annual Permanent Fund Dividend is still providing support to residents who applied earlier this year.
The PFD is funded by investment earnings from the state’s oil revenue, and nearly every eligible Alaskan receives it.
2025 PFD Amount: Each qualifying resident will receive $1,000.
Most payments have already been processed, but applicants with pending reviews will be included in the remaining payment batches.
Upcoming Payout Schedule:
-
December 18, 2025 — For applications confirmed by Dec. 10
-
January 15, 2026 — For applications confirmed by Jan. 7
If you’re still waiting, it’s best to check your application status online and ensure all required information has been submitted.

-
Eligible taxpayers should monitor their mailbox.
-
Make sure your address is current with the state tax department to avoid delays.
What You Should Do Now
If you live in Alaska or New York, take a moment to confirm your eligibility, update your contact details, and monitor your application or tax account.
These state-level payments may not match past federal stimulus checks, but they still offer helpful financial support as families close out the year.
